Working as a Tour Manager, Road Manager and Stage Manager often provide the necessary insight and experience for this leadership position. All experience working on shows and events is useful to this career path. And it takes a lot of experience and knowledge and relationships to get there.
Required Skills
Knowledge of the industry and standards for both the technology and equipment involved as well as safety and best practices. Being a clear and thoughtful communicator is key. Building relationships with diplomacy and genuinely caring that everyone participating from the walkie talkie vendor to the headlining artist is getting what they need to do their best work.
